Happy Place by Emily Henry

"You are in all of my happiest places."

4 stars-

This is just going to be a quick review. Happy Place is my first Emily Henry book, and I did not disappoint it delt with topics such as friends changing over time. Love after loss was a very big theme in this novel communication is something that is also heavily pressed upon. I felt that this book delved deeper into pressing topics that most books don't touch, but Emily Henry still put it in a way that felt lighthearted.

"Love means constantly saying you're sorry, and then doing it better."

The romance in this book is cute. It's between Harriet and Wyn they never told their friends that they broke off their engagement, so they fake date on their annual weeklong trip to Knox Harbor. One of my favorite things about their dynamic is even though they're unspoken things between them Wyn still goes out of his way to do things for Harriet. His love for her has no bounds. From the start of the book, you can tell that they're meant to be, you'll be rooting for them from the very first page.

"And I know this place, even if I can't name it, I know that I'm safe... I know that I belong."

The number of sweet moments between them, especially getting stuck in the wine closet. I loved how much their friend group was such a huge aspect in the novel, it honestly improved my reading experience greatly. Harriet and Wyn's communication greatly improve throughout the book. By the end they've worked out their problems between them and with their friends.

"I got rid of every single piece of you, like that would make a difference, like I could cut you out of me, and instead, I just see everywhere you're supposed to be."

I love Wyn and Harriet and I think you will too 🩷
