Divine Rivals by Rebecca Ross

5 ⭐️

Did I finish this book? Or did this book finish me? Divine Rivals most definitely finished me. My gosh, this is some of the most beautiful writing I’ve read in the almost 2 years I’ve been reading consistently. Rebecca Ross’s words are so lyrical and magical. I’m not a person who annotates their books, but I tabbed the life out of this book.

🎵Rewrite the Stars by Jess & Gabriel🎵

No words can describe what this book is about down to its core. To give you a quick explanation; This story follows two characters Iris Winnow, and Roman Kitt who are competing for the position of columnist at the Oath Gazette. While they compete for the position war is waging between the two Gods Enva, and Dacre. But will the two rivals get out of each other's way before it's too late?

“He missed her so much that he felt a dull ache in his chest that never went away.”

The dynamic between Roman and Iris is impeccable. The banter between the two of them is extremely entertaining. While they’re competing for the same job, they race to work to get the assignments before the other. Their chemistry is undeniable, and I love both of them to bits.

“She unfortunately had to sit on Roman Kitt’s lap, nearly all the way to the front lines.”

The storyline of this book took me completely by surprise. Like I said before, no description does not do this book justice. I feel as though it’s better to go into this blind and just know that this is a Rivals to Lovers story of epic proportions. This book will tug at your heart strings and have a couple of tears falling at the most unexpected moments. You instantly forge such a connection to both of the main characters which makes this story all the more special.

“Take him below.”

If you haven’t read Divine Rivals yet, this is your sign to read. I am very happy to say this book has made it into my Top 5 Books of the Year. I hope you fall in love just like I did…

WARNING SPOILERS AHEAD PROCEED WITH CAUTION

I can't believe that ending had me bawling my eyes out at 2am. How did I not know that this book ended in one or the most heartbreaking cliffhangers I’ve read. The amount of hatred I have for Dacre is never-ending. The blurb for Ruthless Vows made me cry all over again. LIKE WHAT DO YOU MEAN MY HUSBAND ROMAN KITT CAN’T REMEMBER IRIS. Anyways highly anticipating Ruthless Vows if they don’t end up together, I’m suing Rebecca Ross….

My Favorite Quotes:

“Marry me, Iris Elizabeth Winnow.”

“Yes, I’ll marry you, Roman Carver Kitt”

“Roman’s heart shot into his throat as Iris fell off her stool, reflexively cowering on the ground.

This was it.

This was his absolute worst nightmare coming to life.

He lunged across the distance, covering her with his body.”

“I love you Iris.

And I want you to see me. I want you to know me. Through the smoke and the firelight and kilometers that once dwelled between us.

Do you see me?”

Thank you for reading my review💗
